On March 9, 2020 at 17:00 a call was received in Tumanyan Police Division from “Alaverdi Medical Center” CJSC informing that a resident of Odzun village of Lori province with “blind firearm wound on the right thigh, multiple fracture of the middle third of the right thigh bone» was taken to them. The latter declared that he had heard explosion noise after which he felt pain in the region of the thigh.

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Tumanyan Investigative Division of Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 (willful infliction of heavy bodily damage) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation data were obtained on the allegation that on March 9, 2020 at about 16:30 in the park adjacent to Sayat-Nova square of Alaverdi town the person having committed the alleged crime, for the purpose of inflicting bodily injury, with a firearm procured illegally fired a shot towards the resident of Odzun village inflicting heavy bodily injury.

Through inspection of the demolished building adjacent to the crime scene a firearm of «Makarov» model without a factory number with 4 bullets in its cartridge was found.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case as well as the person having committed the alleged crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
