Necessary measures are taken in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of stabbing 30 year-old woman. 36 year-old resident of Yerevan was arrested on suspicion of stabbing the latter.

On September 26, 2018 a call was received from “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” medical center in Nor Nork Division of the RA Police informing that a resident of Yerevan, born in 1987, with a diagnoses of “penetrating bleeding cut-pierced wound on the left lateral part with spleen damage, acute internal bleeding” was taken to them. Pursuant to the report, the woman had sustained the mentioned injuries in the park after Nansen.

In the result of investigatory and operative-intelligence measures taken within the criminal case the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1982. The latter was arrested on suspicion of stabbing 30 year-old woman.

On October 7, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.  The 30 year-old woman was found the injured party.

Through investigation data were obtained on the allegation that the man, born in 1982, was suffering from “chronic delirium disorder” mental illness.

Forensic medical, forensic psychiatric, forensic criminological, forensic genetic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case, the clothes the woman was wearing at the moment of the incident, as well as the knife which was the crime tool were confiscated.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances, to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
