Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on illegal carrying of weapon and willful infliction of bodily damage of medium gravity to health is ongoing in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume the suspect was arrested.

It was earlier informed that on November 28, 2018 at about 15:00 on Sevan-Martuni road at the area of Dzoragyugh community of Gegharkunik province noticing a damaged car the road police officers of Martuni Division of the Police stopped it after which the driver of the mentioned car – the resident of Gegharkunik province, born in 1985, got out of the car and taking with him a pistol of “Volter” model threw it in the forest and fled. The passenger of the car who is also a resident of Gegharkunik province was apprehended to the police station.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Points 1 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 113 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code, urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted. Through inspection of the scene the pistol of «Volter» model, 3 bullets, as well as the damaged car of «Mercedes» make was found.

On the same day a call was received in Gavar Division of the Police from “Izmirlyan” medical center informing that residents of Gegharkunik province, born in 1984 and 1988, with firearm injuries were taken to medical center. It was found out that those having sustained firearm injury are brothers.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures a number of circumstances significant for the case were found out.

Pursuant to investigation data, the brothers had sustained bodily injuries in the result of shots fired by the man, born in 1985, during the quarrel between fellow villagers in Noratus village of Gegharkunik province. The brothers were found the injured party.

In the result of joint measures taken together with police officers on November 30, 2018 the man, born in 1985, was found and arrested.

A number of forensic examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is under way. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of all circumstances of the case.
