Within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 335 and the Part 2 of the Article 460 of the RA Criminal Code investigation is conducted to find out circumstances of the explosion in the store located in Nor Kharberd community of the same province.

On December 25, 2022 at 16:25 a citizen called the RA Police station and informed that his son had been attacked with a grenade next to one of the houses in Nor Kharberd community.

The investigative-operative group immediately left for the scene where they noticed 35 year-old resident of the same community with a grenade in his hand. In the result of negotiation the man handed the combat grenade over to the police officers and was taken to the police station.

Pursuant to initial data, on the same day at about 16:15 the former 35 year-old owner of the mentioned clothes store entered the store with a grenade in his hand, threatened to blow it up and demanded that the above-mentioned citizen’s son should leave the store. The latter immediately left after which an explosion was heard.

Through inspection of the scene it was found out that the window glasses of the mentioned store were broken, there were blast damages on the walls. Grenade fragments were found and taken.

A number of witnesses were questioned.

On the same day 35 year-old man was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of the crime committal.

Necessary actions are conducted to find out the causes and other circumstances significant for the case, to provide the complete, comprehensive and objective investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
