1301 Tress Cut Down Illegally in Sections of “Stepanavan Forestry” Branch; Criminal Case Initiated

In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee actual data were obtained on illegal tree felling committed in sections of branch “Stepanavan Forestry” of “Hayantar” SNCO, a new criminal case was initiated.

In order to provide the comprehensive investigation of the criminal case investigated in the RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases on allegedly abusing official authorities and forgery committed by a number of employees of “Hayantar” SNCO , by the investigator’s decision a professional inspection was commissioned in the sections 12 and 14 of “Stepanavan Forestry” of “Hayantar” SNCO the conduction of which was tasked to Environmental Inspectorate of  the RA Ministry of Nature Protection.  

The investigative body received the inspection act. Through examination of the act it was found out that 1301 tree trunks of different types and diameters cut illegally were recorded in forest areas of the sections by the professional group. Pursuant to initial data, the damage caused to the state is 88.773.750 AMD.

A new criminal case was initiated in the Department of Investigation of General Crimes of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases according to the Part 3 of the Article 296 of RA Criminal Code and a decision was made to join it to the criminal case initiated on allegedly abusing official authorities and forgery by a number of employees of “Hayantar” SNCO.

Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to identify those having committed the alleged crime and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment to their actions.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
