In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted within the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee actual data were obtained on illegal tree felling, abusing official authorities, giving and getting bribe in Stepanavan forestry of “Hayantar” SNCO. A new criminal case was initiated, 6 persons were arrested.

In the result of actions of great volume conducted jointly by employees of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, the Department of Counteracting Corruption-Related and Economic-Related Crimes of General Department of Fight against Organized Crime of the RA Police and the RA National Security Service a number of circumstances were found out.

Particularly, it was found out that in several sections of Stepanavan forestry about 191 trees of different types and size were illegally cut down causing the state damage of 11.877.000 AMD.

Besides, data were obtained on abusing official authorities, giving bribe and getting bribe with prior agreement by officials of Stepanavan forestry of “Hayantar” SNCO.

Investigatory and procedural actions of great volume were conducted, a number of people were questioned, searches were conducted in the apartments of numerous people having committed the illegal tree felling or related to it.

A new criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Department of Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases according to the Part 1 of the Article 308, the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 311 and the Part 1 of the Article 312 of RA Criminal Code. A decision was made to join it to the criminal case investigated in RA IC General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

In the result of urgent measures taken within the criminal case 6 persons were arrested and gave testimony.

A part of the damage caused to the state by illegal tree felling was restored.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Active investigatory actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case, to find everyone possibly involved.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
