Necessary investigatory actions are conducted in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee to find the circumstances, the motive of murder attempt committed against a detained person kept in “Armavir” penitentiary.
 

On March 25, 2017 a call was received informing that on the same day at about 13:45 in “Armavir” penitentiary of the RA Ministry of Justice violence was used against one of the detainees with a cutting-piercing item inflicting bodily injuries.
 

Pursuant to initial data, murder attempt was committed against the detainee by another prisoner kept in the same penitentiary, which was prevented.
 

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code. By the instruction of the RA IC Chairman preliminary investigation of the criminal case is conducted in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.
 

In the framework of the criminal case the detainee was found the injured party. Inspection of the site was conducted. Samples were taken, confiscations were carried out, forensic medical examinations were commissioned and a number of witnesses were interrogated.
 

Additional information on procedural decisions made on the base of actual data obtained in the result of necessary investigatory actions will be provided.
