Ahead of Parliamentary Elections RA Investigative Committee Reminds

Ahead of parliamentary elections to be held on December 9 RA Investigative Committee reminds;

A person is subject to criminal liability for breaching the confidentiality of ballot. That is through RA Criminal Code liability is envisaged for forcing the voter to divulge the results of the ballot, checking the ballot list to reveal the results of the vote, entering the ballot booth (room) to help a relative or a close person without an appropriate permission of electoral commission, as well as for breaching the confidentiality of the voting otherwise.

For the above-mentioned acts punishment - fine in the amount of 500 to 700 minimal salaries, or imprisonment from 2 to 5 years is envisaged by RA Criminal Code.

Voting openly that is in a visible way for a third person (except for a person assisting the voter), as well as breaching the confidentiality of ballot out of mercenary motives by publication of information received through video recording or taking photo of the document revealing the voting result are acts envisaged by Criminal Code.

The mentioned acts are punished with a fine in the amount of 100 to 200 minimal salaries.
