A criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on violent sexual actions committed against foreign citizen. In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified and arrested.

On March 2, 2018 28 year-old woman who was a citizen of Check Republic submitted a report informing that on the previous day – on March 1 at about 19:30 she got lost while riding a bike in Gugark and found herself in a deserted field where a young man approached her and attempted to commit violent sexual actions against her.

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 139 of RA Criminal Code and necessary investigatory and other procedural actions were committed to find circumstances of the case.

The person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Lori, born in 1994. On the same day person’s recognition was conducted during which the woman, born in 1990, recognized and pointed out the young man stating that it was the latter who committed violent sexual actions against her. The woman was found the injured party, inspection of the site was conducted with her participation.

The suspect was arrested and questioned. Through inspection of the body of the injured bruises and scratches on her arms and feet were found and a scratch was found on the right wrist of the suspect through his body’s inspection.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
