A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on banditry committed against a foreigner, the suspect was arrested.

On April 12, 2018 a report was received from a citizen of the Sultanate of Oman informing that on the same day at about 00:00 someone attacked him in one of the clubs operating in Tumanyan Street of Yerevan; took him out of the club threatening to use violence with a knife dangerous for life, forced him to get into a car, swindled his purse where he had ID cards, bank cards and money. Then the same person took him to a flat located in Nork-Marash administrative district of Yerevan where he used violence against him and swindled his cell phone of “iPhone 7+” model and headset.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.

In the framework of the criminal case the citizen of the Sultanate of Oman was found the injured party, inspection of the site was conducted, forensic medical examination was commissioned.

In the result of necessary measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a citizen of the Republic of Guinea, born in 1988. On the same day the latter was brought to the investigative body. Through his personal search the phone and purse of the injured were found.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of committing crime envisaged by the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
