A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on swindling in particularly large amount with threat to use violence dangerous for the employee of «VTB Armenia Bank» CJSC.

Pursuant to initial data, on February 19 at about 15:35 two armed people entered the branch N 4 of «VTB Armenia Bank» CJSC and threatening to use violence dangerous for life and health of employees swindled money in particularly large amount. The amount of the damage inflicted is being clarified; according to initial calculations sum of about 8.5 million in different currencies was swindled.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed. Necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to identify the people having committed the alleged crime and to find them.

Inspection of the site was conducted, videos captured by the video-recording devices operating in the branch were confiscated.

Information about the results of preliminary investigation data will be provided.
