A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on stealing about 18 million AMD from ATM.

Pursuant to initial data, on July 28, 2019 from 04:00 to 05:00 the door of the ATM located in Yerevan which belongs to “VTB Armenia Bank” CJSC was opened by blowing up and money in particularly large amount was stolen.

According to initial data, the damage caused is 17.974.000 AMD.

Considering that in the materials there is a base to initiate a criminal case, in the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts a criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 177 of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation a number of investigatory actions were conducted. Through inspection of the scene the damaged parts of the ATM, the money available in the ATM, as well as the ATM camera were taken. Forensic technical explosion, forensic expert and forensic trace examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

An investigatory plan has been worked out, investigatory actions of great volume are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

The relevant subdivisions of the Police were tasked to take necessary operative-searching and operative-intelligence measures to identify the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime and bring him (them) to the investigative body.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
