Chairman of RA Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong

The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan today received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong.
 

During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues on cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of both countries. The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee presented the steps taken in our country to create an independent body of reforms in judiciary system, the structure of the RA Investigative Committee, the range of its authorities and functions.  
 

The Ambassador stated that Armenian-Chinese interstate relations develop in a comprehensive way recording progress in all dimensions, including economic, cultural, political ones, and in this context the cooperation between the law enforcement bodies is also highlighted.
 

Mr. Erlong stated that the aim of delegation’s visit to Armenia headed by special representative of the President of the People’s Republic of Armenia, the member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, secretary of Political and Legal Affairs Commission Meng Jianzhu was to activate and deepen the Armenian-Chinese cooperation in law enforcement area considering that it will contribute to strengthening of bilateral political relations.  
 

The cooperation of Armenian and Chinese law enforcement bodies has all bases and opportunities of legal regulation; interdepartmental, as well as interstate agreements on legal aid have been signed, close cooperation is carried out in the framework of UNO conventions. Besides, in 2012 Prosecutor General of the People’s Republic of China Cao Jianming arrived in Armenia at the request of the RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan and a specific program of cooperation was signed in Yerevan.  
 

Recording the traditions of cooperation and legislative regulations the parties highlighted the deepening of cooperation between the investigative bodies, operative exchange of information in the framework of international-legal cooperation in the framework of criminal cases.
 

Agreement was achieved to continue the discussions in working order. The  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong accompanied by the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee toured in the building of the RA Investigative Committee, he got acquainted with working conditions, the rooms designed for separate investigatory actions, the library.
