Charge Pressed against Daughter-in-law of RA Former Minister of Culture for Legitimizing Illegally Obtained Property (video)

In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of legitimizing illegally obtained property committed by the daughter-in-law of the RA former Minister of Culture, deputy chairperson of “Armenian Society of Cultural Relations and Cooperation with Foreign Countries” NGO Hasmik Poghosyan were found out.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, Hasmik Poghosyan’s daughter-in-law Francesca Cutrupi, being a director of a company registered offshore - in the British Virgin Islands, from 2011 to 2014 with prior agreement with the chairperson, deputy chairperson, member of the presidency of the mentioned NGO and LLC director, by making a formal transaction concealed and distorted the source and belonging of the land of 526.9 s/m located at 3 Abovyan, Yerevan owned by the organization, acquired in the result of criminal activities. Then she possessed and managed the mentioned property in particularly large amount selling the rights for it and registering in the name of a number of people and the above-mentioned company registered in the British Virgin Islands.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the daughter-in-law of the Former Minister of Culture Francesca Cutrupi according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 190 of RA Criminal Code. Search was declared and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
