Charge pressed against forester for abusing official authorities
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the forester for abusing official authorities.
Through preliminary investigation sufficient actual data were obtained on the allegation that the forester of N section of Gyulagarak forestry of Stepanavan’s forestry branch of “Hayantar” SNCO did not perform his duties properly; he did not record the forest violation cases, did not take proper steps to prevent, to bring the perpetrators to responsibility.
Particularly, it was found that while touring in the section trusted to him in spring, 2015 the forester found that the fellow villager had illegally cut trees of beech and hornbeam type and taken the wood but he did not make records on forest violation.
Besides, while touring in the same section from November 17 to December 1, 2015 the forester found stumps of 20 beeches, 7 hornbeams and 2 pine trees, however with the purpose of concealing his failures to take preventive measures against deforestation he did not record the fact that the person having committed the apparent crime had illegally cut the trees. Instead, in order to make the cutting look legal, he cleaned the stump bark of 23 trees cut illegally and with green paint for legal logging area he made illegible notes similar to numbering.
On the base of the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against the forester according to the Part 1 of the Article 308 of RA Criminal Code, signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
Preliminary investigation was completed. The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
