Charge Pressed against One more Person for Willful Infliction of Heavy Bodily Damage to Ara Mkhitaryan
Active investigatory and procedural actions are ongoing in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of infliction of heavy bodily damage to the officer of a military unit of RA Ministry of Defense Ara Mkhitaryan. Charge was pressed against one more person Zaven Grigoryan. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against the latter.
It was earlier informed that on September 18, 2019 a resident of Shirak province, an officer of RA Ministry of Defense, unconscious, was taken to hospital and underwent an urgent operation.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.
Through investigation data were obtained on the allegation that the officer had sustained the bodily injuries on September 17, 2019 at about 23:40 during the argument on getting clarifications.
In the result of investigatory actions conducted during preliminary investigation a number of circumstances of the case were found out, two persons having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Yeghegnadzor town, brothers Harutyun and Zaven Grigoryans.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against one of those having committed the alleged crime – Harutyun Grigoryan according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
Charge was also pressed against Zaven Grigoryan according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
