Active investigatory actions are ongoing within the criminal case investigated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of causing bodily injuries incompatible with life to 26 year-old man committed in Kapan on November 27. Charge was pressed against one person for murder out of hooliganism, against four persons for concealing crime and against one more person for inducing to conceal traces of particularly grave crime.

On November 27, 2019 at 09:25 a call was received from “Kapan Medical Center” CJSC informing that the resident of Kapan Robert Hayrumyan, born in 1993, with a diagnosis of “cut-pierced wound on the left part of the chest, lacerated wound on the apical part of the head” was taken to them.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of necessary measures taken jointly by the officers of the IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department and Kapan Police Division a number of circumstances of the case, including the scene, the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is also a resident of Kapan, born in 1988.

Particularly, it was found out that on November 27 at about 05:00 in the club located in the town of Kapan then in the yard, as well 31 year-old man argued with R. Hayrumyan during which in order to emphasize the supposed advantage of his own self he stabbed the latter for numerous times on his head and other vital parts of the body causing cut-pierced wounds. As a result, a few days later – on December 3 the young man died in hospital without regaining consciousness.

During preliminary investigation forensic medical examination was commissioned. Pursuant to its result the young man’s death had been caused by swelling of the brain caused by injury of skull and brain.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions as well as operative-intelligence measures actual data were also obtained on apparent concealing traces of particularly grave crime committed by a group of residents of Kapan induced by others; that is blood-like traces that were at the area of the club which was the crime scene were cleaned with hot water, cloth, besom and abolished as much as possible, the videos picturing the circumstances of the case were also removed.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 31 year-old man according to the Point 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. Charge was pressed against 4 more persons according to the Part 1 of the Article 334 of RA Criminal Code for concealing traces of particularly grave crime, against one more person according to the Part 1 of the Article 38-334 of RA Criminal Code for inducing to conceal traces of particularly grave crime. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Investigatory actions are conducted and operative-intelligence measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to give criminal legal assessment to them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
