In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of murder of 28 year-old resident of Ararat region were found, charge was pressed against another resident of the same region.

On December 30, 2017 at about 20:00 a call was received from Artashat's medical center informing that the resident of Ararat region Grigor Israyelyan, born in 1989, with penetrating injuries on the left part of the chest, on frontal and lateral parts of the abdomen was taken to medical center. The latter died of the injuries he had sustained.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Ararat Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. In the result of urgent investigatory actions the site was found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is also a resident of Ararat region, born in 1990.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, the 28 year-old young man sustained the injuries incompatible with life during the argument with a 27 year-old resident of the same region. On December 30, 2017 at about 19:30 in front of the meat shop located in the village of V. Artashat of Ararat region the person having committed the alleged crime, being under the influence of alcohol, argued with the 28 year-old resident of the same region over parking his car. The argument continued on V. Artashat – Artashat road near the village of Berdik. During the argument the 27 year-old young man took a folding knife out of his car and stabbed three times the 28 year-old man on the left part of his chest and abdomen inflicting injuries incompatible with life.   

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 27 year-old resident of Ararat region according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
