In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions conducted in Vedi Investigative Division of Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of murder of 59 year-old resident of Vedi were found out.

Pursuant to factual data obtained through investigation, on January 5, 2021 61 year-old resident of Vedi organized a party in the elders’ game room located in the administrative building of Vedi municipality and used by him as an apartment with 59 year-old man living together with him, 55 year-old and two 17 year-old fellow-citizens, as well as 57 year-old resident of Goravan village. During the party the young men turned on music by mobile phone and danced. After a while at about 22:00 59 year-old man scolded those present demanding not to make a noise and not to disturb him.

For the purpose of punishing the latter for scolding and illegally depriving him of life the participants of the party hit the man lying on the sofa with hands and feet on different parts of his body. Then the resident of Goravan village hit him on the head with a guitar as well as together with 61 year-old man and one of the juveniles hit the man for numerous times on different parts of his body causing heavy bodily injuries incompatible with life.

Two days later on January 7 in the same room 61 and 55 year-old residents of Vedi put the victim’s body in a wooden box and the next day on January 8 between 00:00 and 01:00 17 year-old juveniles took the mentioned box in the car of “Toyota Corolla” make to the dumping ground adjacent to the midfield road of Kaghtsrashen village and left it there.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 61 year-old resident of Vedi according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him. Charge was pressed against one of the juveniles according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, against the other juvenile and 55 year-old man – according to the Part 1 of the Article 334 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them. Criminal prosecution against the resident of Goravan village was terminated based on the latter’s death.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the motion to confirm the bill of indictment and send it to court was sent to the prosecutor.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
