In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of Samvel Avagyan's murder committed in Shengavit were found, cases of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs were revealed; charge was pressed against 46 year-old man.

On October 3, 2017 at 20:35 a call was received from medical center informing that a man, born in 1969, with firearm injuries on the abdomen was taken to medical center. His life could not be saved and on the morning of October 4 he died without regaining consciousness.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department, an investigatory group was formed and in the result of investigatory and other procedural actions a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1971.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation it was found that the victim and the person having committed the alleged crime had known each other since 1988 and had been in friendly relations. In 2011 they served terms in a penitentiary during which they had disagreements on personal matters. As a result, their relations went worse. After 2014 the 46 year-old man blamed the victim for the incident related to a member of his family.  

On the day of the case – on October 3, 2017 at about 20:00 with the purpose of taking revenge the 46 year-old man drove to S. Avagyan’s house located in Noragavit of Yerevan in a car of “Mini Cooper” make and fired three shots from the rifle of “TT” model towards S. Avagyan who was standing alone near the house. The latter died in medical center of firearm injuries he had sustained.

Besides, in the result of objective investigation it was revealed that the 46 year-old man was involved in illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, as well. Through the searches conducted in the order defined by law narcotic drug was found in the car service point which belonged to him.

On the base of the sufficient evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against 46 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104, the Part 1 of the Article 235, the Part 1 of the Article 266 and the Part 1 of the Article 268 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
