A criminal case was initiated in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on stabbing father and son. A number of circumstances significant for the case were found out.

On August 18, 2018 a call was received informing that the resident A. Abelyan with cut-pierced wound on the upper part of the right thigh and his son M. Abelyan with cut-pierced penetrating wound on the abdomen were taken to «Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center» CJSC.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures a number of circumstances of the case, including the scene, the motive were found out, data were obtained on the person having committed the alleged crime.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that father and son Abelyans had sustained the bodily injuries with a knife during the argument that took place at the area adjacent to one of the houses on Geghard roadway of Garni community.

Forensic medical examinations were commissioned, searches were conducted.

The relevant subdivision of the police was tasked to take active measures to find the person having committed the alleged crime and to bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
