In the result of measures taken in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of hooliganism committed in the court yard by a group of people, interference with the legitimate official activities of the police were found out.

Pursuant to initial information, on August 22, 2022 at about 15:40 an incident took place in the yard of the court of first instance of Kentron and Nork Marash administrative districts of Yerevan between the supporters of the parties of the criminal trial ongoing at the mentioned court during which a group of people scolded in a loud voice and hit the cars parked there and the passengers with hands and feet which was noticed by the police officers carrying out their service duties at the mentioned place. They immediately approached, introduced themselves and required not to breach the public order and to stop the illegal activities. In response to the police officers’ legal requirement the above-mentioned people scolded, one of them hit the police officer then they fled.

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding urgent investigative and procedural actions were conducted – inspection of the scene, confrontations, confiscations, interrogations, necessary forensic examinations were commissioned.

In the result of large-scale measures factual data on the incident were obtained, 6 of those having committed the alleged crime were identified, decisions were made to conduct public criminal prosecution against them.

On the base of the sufficient evidence charge was pressed against them according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 297 and the Part 3 of the Article 452 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against the mentioned 6 people, search was declared against three of them.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
