In criminal case on Manuk Simonyan's murder charge pressed against latter's wife, son released from custody
In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee a number of significant circumstances of murder of Armavir region Governor's advisor Manuk Simonyan were found. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the latter’s wife, a decision was made to release his son from custody.
On July 25, 2017 at about 23:30 the body of Manuk Simonyan, born in 1965, was found wrapped and tied at the area called «Dalarik's canyon».
In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case it was found that the victim's wife had periodically been subjected to violence by her husband.
On the morning of July 22, 2017 a row erupted again between the wife and husband after which the husband slept and the wife hit her sleeping husband with an axe. The latter died of the bodily injuries he had sustained. Then the wife rang her son and called him home. The next day at about 04:00 she took the husband’s body with her son in husband's car and hid at the empty area on the right side of Myasnikyan-Dalarik road.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the victim's wife according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. A decision was also made to release the victim's son from custody.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
