In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee murder of the resident of Kapan was revealed, the suspect was arrested.

On May 22, 2018 at 20:55 a call was received informing that there was a quarrel in one of the flats in Shinararner Street of the town of Kapan.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the scene. The body of the resident of Kapan, born in 1969, with bodily injuries on the face and head was found in the bathroom of the mentioned flat and the household, born in 1954, with a diagnosis of “alcohol intoxication, lacerated wound on the frontal part” was found in the flat.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case a number of circumstances were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

Pursuant to data obtained through investigation on the evening of May 22, 2018 the 48 year-old resident of Kapan was hosted in the flat of fellow citizen, born in 1954, where they had dinner and used alcohol. Then a row erupted between them which turned into brawl. During the brawl the household hit the 48 year-old man on the head with a metal crow-bar then with a fist. The latter died of the injuries he had sustained.

Inspection of the scene was conducted, the metal crow-bar, which was the crime tool, was confiscated, samples were taken, forensic medical examinations were commissioned.

The man, born in 1954, was arrested.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
