Preliminary investigation of criminal case initiated on hooliganism with weapon committed in Vanadzor completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on hooliganism with weapon committed in one of the cafes in Vanadzor town was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee; charge was pressed against 45 year-old man.

On July 30, 2017 a call was received informing that on the same day at about 01:00 shots were fired at the cafe operating in «Sayat-Nova» park in Vanadzor.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Lori Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case were found.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that 45 year-old man, being under the influence of alcohol, fired about 40 shots at the cafe operating in «Sayat-Nova» park in Vanadzor, as well as out of the café which was combined with threatening to use violence against the people in the café. In the result of the shots the property of the café was damaged and panic was caused among customers and employees. Besides, in the result of the shots the TV set and window glass of the flat of one of the residents of Vanadzor were damaged.  

On the base of the sufficient evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against 45 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
