Preliminary investigation of the part separated from the criminal case initiated on infliction of heavy bodily damage, committing hooliganism with an item used as a weapon was completed in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

It should be added that on July 27, 2020 at 23:00 a call had been received informing that four persons with bodily injuries of several gravities were taken to Armavir medical center.

A criminal case had been initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code, the four persons had been found the injured party.

In the result of investigative and other procedural actions circumstances of the case among them the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

The day after the incident 45 year-old resident of Armavir turned himself to the law enforcement body and told that during the argument he had stabbed  the mentioned persons and presented the instrument of the crime - the knife with blood-like traces.

A decision was made by the investigative body to initiate a criminal case according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA former Criminal Code which was combined to the above-mentioned criminal case.

During preliminary investigation it was found out that on July 27, 2020 at about 22:30 at the crossroad of Silikyan and the 5^th Streets of Armavir town a row erupted between the drivers of cars not identified yet through investigation which was accompanied with scolding.

In order to warn those involved in the incident one of the residents of the same street made a remark to them which turned into an argument during which the above-mentioned 45 year-old resident of Armavir region, his son, brother and friend approached those involved in the argument, tried to alleviate the situation but the argument turned into a fight.

Hearing the noise a number of young residents of the nearest building, among them the two sons of the man who had intervened into the drivers’ argument and their friend approached and intervened during which the parties hit one another and 45 year-old man willfully stabbed causing bodily injuries of several gravities to four persons two of which were threatening to life.

During preliminary investigation, by the decision of the investigative body, criminal prosecution was not conducted against 45 year-old man according to the Articles 117 and 113 of the RA former Criminal Code which correspond to the Articles 171 and 167 of the current Criminal Code based on the reconciliation of two injured and the person having committed the crime.

Charge was pressed against 45 year-old man according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA former Criminal Code which corresponds to the Point 1 of the Part 1 of the Article 166 of RA Criminal Code (2 counts). Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

The part on the latter was separated as a separate proceeding, preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Preliminary investigation on committing hooliganism by unknown person (persons) is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
