Structural and Personnel Changes in RA Investigative Committee

Pursuant to decision about amendments in RA Government’s decision N 522-Ա dated April 26, 2018 structural changes were made in bodies and subdivisions of the Investigative Committee in a way of merger, separation conditioned by functional changes.

Particularly, Organizational-Analytical and Criminological General Department of Special Tasks was formed in the Investigative Committee. A new unit was separated from the Department of Investigation of Corruption-Related Crimes, Crimes against Property and Cybercrimes of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases and a Department of Investigation of Cybercrime and High Technology Crime was formed.

Besides, the Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases was renamed as Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs.

The mentioned change is the concentration of investigation of cases on crimes against sexual immunity of juveniles in one subdivision as well as conduction of investigation of the mentioned cases by specialized investigators which will contribute to enhancement of efficiency of preliminary investigation.

A number of personnel changes related to the mentioned structural changes and reorganization also took place; by the order of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan N 704-Ա dated September 23, 2019 First Class Advisor of Justice Artur Melikyan was appointed the head of Organizational-Analytical and Criminological General Department of Special Tasks being dismissed from the position of the head of the RA IC General Department of Control over Activity of Territorial Investigative Departments.

First Class Advisor of Justice Gagik Gevorgyan was appointed the head of the RA IC Organizational-Analytical Department of Special Tasks of Organizational-Analytical and Criminological General Department of Special Tasks and First Class Advisor of Justice Hayk Haroyan was appointed the head of Criminological Department of Organizational-Analytical and Criminological General Department of Special Tasks.

By the order of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan N 702-Ա dated September 23, 2019 First Class Advisor of Justice Robert Adilkhanyan was appointed the head of the RA IC Department of Investigation of Cybercrime and High Technology Crime of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases being dismissed from the position of the head of the RA IC Department of Support to Investigation of Criminal Cases.

By the same order First Class Advisor of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan was appointed the head of the RA IC Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases being dismissed from the position of the head of RA IC Department of Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking and Illegal Turnover of Drugs General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

First Class Advisor of Justice Yura Ivanyan was appointed the head of the RA IC Department of Investigation of Corruption-Related Crimes, Crimes against Property of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases being dismissed from the position of the head of the RA IC Department of Investigation of Corruption-Related Crimes, Crimes against Property and Cybercrime of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

Structural changes are conditioned with efficient organization of the activity of the RA Investigative Committee, particularly it is directed to provide investigators with equal workload and to enhance the efficiency of activity of some subdivisions, to form sub-units for performance of separate functions.
