Two Employees of «Haypost» CJSC Arrested

In the result of measures taken within the criminal case investigated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on getting illegal payment in particularly large amount by the employees of Vardenis Territorial Agency of Social Assistance two more people were arrested today on suspicion of committing swindling in particularly large amount.

It was earlier informed that in the result of investigatory actions of great volume it was found out that from 2013 to 2018 a former and a current employees of Vardenis Territorial Agency of Social Assistance introduced citizens' data in the computer system of the mentioned territorial agency involving them in the beneficiaries list of family benefit system without informing them. Based on it, money in particularly large amount was illegally formulated in their names and apparently swindled every month.  

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 2 of the Part 4 of the Article 311.1 of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation of the criminal case data were obtained on the allegation that the employees of «Haypost» CJSC signed before the names of false beneficiaries formed by the employees of Vardenis Territorial Agency of Social Assistance and taking their part of the received money transferred the rest of the money to the employees of the mentioned agency.

On the base of the obtained data on December 13, 2018 a new criminal case was initiated according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 of RA Criminal Code. A decision was made to conduct preliminary investigation of the mentioned two criminal cases in one proceeding.

In the framework of the criminal case 47 year-old and 34 year-old employees of «Haypost» CJSC were arrested on suspicion of swindling in particularly large amount.

Preliminary investigation is under way. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case, to find out the frame of those involved in apparent abuses, to personalize their actions and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment to them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
