In the result of large-scale investigative and procedural actions conducted, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken by the police officers within the criminal proceeding investigated in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a number of circumstances of stealing property in particularly large amount through banditry committed in Armavir region, were found out.

According to factual data obtained through investigation, A.S. together with a group people took part in the criminal organization created for committing a particularly grave crime by armed attack. Being involved in the organization, A.S. learned in advance from a source not found yet through investigation, about the intention of transporting 999 fine gold bars weighing 36 kg worth 1.024.000.000 AMD and 293.000.000 RF rubbles tantamount to 1.024.000.000 AMD, owned by a person living in the RF, from the RF to the RA by another person D.I on April 10 through «Zvartnots» airport. With the intent to steal the mentioned property by using violence, together with a number of members of the criminal organization, they planned the actions of each member of the criminal organization and distributed roles.

In order to realize the criminal intention, to disguise the possible movement of those involved and not to be disclosed, on April 10, 2024 A.S. and the other members of the criminal organization stole the license plate number of a car of «Porsche» make parked in a street in Yerevan, fixed it on the car of «Porsche» make driven by them and drove in the direction of «Zvartnots» airport ambushing at one of the crossroads of Parakar community of Armavir region.

With the purpose of providing information about D.I.’s arrival in Armenia and completion of document checking, on the same day between 07:03 and 07:13 one of the members of the criminal organization had been at the arrival hall of the airport. Learning about the landing time of the aircraft and D.I.’s driving in the car of «Hyundai Sonata» make from the airport to «Cargo» complex of «Zvartnots» international airport, he informed his accomplices.

They chased the car of «Hyundai Sonata» make in the car of «Porsche» make and between 07:15 and 07:20 creating an artificial barrier in front of Mayraqaghaqayn Street of Parakar community of Armavir region, with the threat of using a weapon through the front right door, stopped the mentioned car. Then the persons having committed the alleged crime, in a uniform similar to the uniform of NSS employees and masked, getting out of the car introduced themselves as the RA NSS employees and using violence against three persons in the car, got them out of the car, handcuffed them under the pretext of searching narcotic drugs, other forbidden items and arresting them. Then stealing the bags with 999 fine gold bars in particularly large amount, weighing 36 kg and 293.000.000 RF rubbles in them, using violence against the mentioned persons, they made them get into the car, blowing tear gas from the front door, fled in the car of «Porsche» make.

Then the members of the criminal organization went to the mine area located in one of the villages in Armavir region, drove up to the hill where with the intent to hide the car of «Porsche» make, parked it in the hole dug in advance in the hill at their instruction through technique and covered the car with the same technique, concealing it. Meanwhile one of the members of the criminal organization, with the intent to hinder the disclosure of crime, turned off the device with content of memory stick of videos captured by cameras. Then the members of the criminal organization fled in several cars located at the area of the mine.

On the base of the obtained sufficient facts charge was pressed against A.S. according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 319, the Points 1 and 4 of the Part 3 of the Article 252, the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 456 of RA Criminal Code. Within the framework of the criminal proceeding criminal prosecution was initiated against 12 persons in total and detention was used against 5 of them as a pretrial measure, other pretrial measures were used against 3, a decision on 4 persons’ arrest was made and the Police was assigned to find and bring them to the investigative body.

In the result of a number of searches conducted in the course of preliminary investigation, a part of the stolen goods was found.
