In the result of necessary investigative and other procedural actions conducted in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the case of murder of 82 year-old resident of Vanadzor town was disclosed.

On November 1, 2022 at 15:05 a call was received from the resident of Vanadzor informing that he had found his mother’s body.

The investigative-operative group immediately left for the scene and found the old woman’s body on her bed in the bedroom with a cut-pierced wound on her wrist.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of urgent measures a number of circumstances of the case were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the old woman’s grandson, born in 2004, living with her n the same apartment. He was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion on crime committal.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
