On March 6, 2023 at 17:20 a report was received in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee informing that on the same day at about 13:30 next to a house in the district Dzork of Kapan town 51 year-old resident of the same town willfully, with the intent to deprive of life ran over his former wife in his car of “Mercedes” make causing bodily injuries and drove away leaving her helpless.

On the same day the call from “Kapan’s medical center” CJSC was received informing that the above-mentioned woman with “concussion, lacerations of the right and left parts of the face” was taken to medical center.

A criminal proceeding was initiated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code within the framework of which 51 year-old man’s former wife was found the victim, forensic medical expertise was commissioned.

51 year-old resident of Kapan was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion.

It should be mentioned that by the verdict of May 30, 2014 51 year-old man was found guilty for causing light damage to former wife’s health - firing shots from a pneumatic gun of “MP654-K” model fixed to him towards her face and head, hitting her with hands and feet during the argument about personal matters and a fine was imposed as punishment. By another verdict brought in on September 23, 2016 51 year-old man was acquitted in the charge pressed against him for threatening his former wife to kill, causing a feeling of fear, alarm, anxiety in the form of psychological coercion.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
