A criminal case initiated on death of the child in medical center
A criminal case was initiated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department on death of a child in “Armavir Medical Center”.
On June 16, 2015 at 13:55 a call was received from “Armavir Medical Center” informing that a minor child from the village of Jrashen was taken to the medical center with a diagnose of “acute intestinal infection” who died on the same day at about 17:00 while receiving medical care in hospital.
During preparation of materials it was found that at the moment of being accepted to hospital the child was in condition of medium gravity. While providing the child with medical care the child’s condition drastically deteriorated, he was taken to intensive care unit where he died a short while later.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 2 of the Article 130 of RA Criminal Code (failure to implement or improper implementation of professional duties by medical and support personnel which caused by negligence the patient’s death).
Forensic medical examination was appointed to find the cause of the child’s death. Inspection was conducted in the residence of the child. Samples of food, water were taken, forensic nutritional examination was appointed.
Necessary investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete examination of the circumstances of the child’s death.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
