In the result of necessary measures taken within the criminal case investigated in Akhuryan Investigative Division of Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee actual data were obtained on swindling money by cheating from graduates in «Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute after M. Nalbandyan»; search was declared against the former vice-rector of the institute.

Through preliminary investigation it was found out that in academic years of 2012-2016 money was taken by cheating from 3529 graduates under the pretext of ordering and giving diplomas to graduates though money for that purpose was provided and the money collected from the graduates was allegedly swindled. Pursuant to initial data, the amount of money swindled is 19.409.500 AMD.

Through the criminal case sufficient data were obtained on the relation of the former vice-rector of «Gyumri State Pedagogical Institute after M. Nalbandyan» SNCO A. Pharmanyan to the case. The latter was involved as a defendant according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 of RA Criminal Code and search was declared against him. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against the former vice-rector.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to clarify the frame of those having committed the alleged crime.
