Body of 76 year-old woman with craniocerebral injury found in Vayots Dzor; criminal case initiated on murder
A criminal case was initiated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on 76 year-old woman’s murder. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find all the circumstances of the case.
On October 24, 2015 at about 19:00 a call was received informing that the body of the resident of the village of Vernashen, Vayots Dzor region, Gohar Barseghyan, born in 1939, was found in the lot located at one of the houses of the same village.
The investigatory-operative group headed by the investigator of particularly important cases of Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee immediately left for the site. Through the external inspection of the body open, blunt craniocerebral injury was found on the head. Through the inspection of the site a spade of agricultural use was found on which there were blood-like traces.
According to the death certificate submitted by the forensic expert the cause of the woman’s death was acute disorder of vital functions of the brain caused by the mentioned craniocerebral injury.
A criminal case was initiated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder). An investigatory group has been created the head of which is the investigator of particularly important cases of the Regional Investigative Department. A plan of investigatory actions has been developed, possible hypotheses have been propounded. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to verify the hypotheses, to find the motives of murder, as well as to identify the person having committed the apparent crime. The appropriate subdivisions of the Police have been tasked to take operative-intelligence measures to find the circumstances of the case. Samples have been taken from the site, forensic medical, forensic biological examinations have been commissioned and several persons have been interrogated.
