Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murders of two elderly women V. Simonyan and G. Barseghyan was completed in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case two women’s murders were revealed and on the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against a minor resident of Vayots Dzor.
 

In October, 2015 two calls on death of two elderly residents of Vayots Dzor were received. On October 20 the body of the resident of one of the houses of Yeghegnadzor town V. Simonyan, born in 1924, was found in the yard of the same house. On October 24 the body of the resident of Vernashen village of Vayots Dzor G. Barseghyan, born in 1939, was found in the plot located near one of the houses of the same village.
 

Through external inspection of the bodies traces of violence were found and criminal cases were initiated on murder. In the framework of criminal cases investigated in the proceeding of Vayots Dzor Investigative Department investigatory and procedural actions of great volume were conducted to reveal the crimes in the result of which a number of significant circumstances were found, sufficient evidence on the allegation that the elderly women had been assaulted by the same person were obtained. A decision was made to join the criminal cases initiated on murder of G. Barseghyan and V. Simonyan in one proceeding.   
 

According to the evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding, on October 20, 2015 from 12:00 to 13:00 under the pretext of doing agricultural work but with the intend to swindle other person’s property the minor resident of Yeghegnadzor went to V. Simonyan’s house located in Yeghegnadzor town and offered his service for some money. By V. Simonyan’s offer the minor went into the kitchen of the house where noticing golden earrings on elderly woman’s ears, with the purpose of swindling them, by using violence dangerous for the latter’s life pushed her to the ground in the result of which the latter hit the concrete floor with her head and died of the injury she had sustained. The minor took the golden earrings with red color out of the woman’s ears and escaped.
 

Through investigation it was found that a few days later – on October 24, 2015 on the second half of the day the minor with the same purpose went to Vernashen village of Vayots Dzor, approached G. Barseghyan working in her plot and offered his service. Getting the latter’s agreement he started picking apples during which he again noticed golden earrings on the woman’s ears. With the purpose of swindling the mentioned earrings he hit the woman on the head with a spade lying near the tree after which he took out the earrings and escaped. Through investigation it was found that later the minor sold the golden earrings swindled from the two elderly women.
 

It was also found that the minor resident of Vayost Dzor, being warned about responsibility envisaged for false crime reporting, accused another resident of the same region of two elderly women’s murder combined with banditry.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the minor resident of Vayots Dzor according to the Points 1 and 8 of the Part 1 of the Article 104 (murder of two or more persons out of mercenary motives) and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 333 of RA Criminal Code (false crime reporting accompanied with accusation of grave or particularly grave crime). Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.
 

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
