A criminal case initiated on murder of 91 year-old woman in Yeghegnadzor
A criminal case was initiated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of 91 year-old woman.
On October 21, 2015 at about 10:00 a call was received informing that the body of the resident of Yeghegnadzor town Vardush Simonyan, born in 1924, was found in the yard of her house located at Isakov 25, Yeghegnadzor.
The investigatory-operative group headed by an investigator of Vayotz Dzor Regional Investigative Department left for the site. Through external inspection of the body open, blunt craniocerebral injuries in the form of fracture were found.
According to death certificate given by the forensic expert, the reason of V. Simonyan’s death was acute disorder of vital functions of brain caused by open, blunt craniocerebral injury. At the same time, the forensic expert recorded that close, blunt injuries were also found on the chest and backbone of the woman’s body.
A criminal case was initiated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory group was formed.
V. Simonyan was found a victim, her nephew was appointed the legal successor of the victim.
Conduction of preliminary investigation was tasked to the investigatory group. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find the motive and circumstances of murder, forensic medical, forensic biological examinations of the body were appointed, the appropriate subdivisions of the Police were instructed to take operative-intelligence measures.
