Charge Pressed against 24 Year-Old Young Man for Stabbing and Gaining Illegal Control of Car without Intention of Theft; Criminal Case Sent to Court

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on willful infliction of bodily damage of medium gravity, gaining illegal control of a car without the intention of theft was completed in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Through investigation factual data were obtained on the allegation that a row erupted between the resident of Armavir province - young man born in 1996 and 60 year-old resident of the same province on debt of the young man’s girl-friend which went on at the area called “Blue Bridge” where they drove in 60 year-old man’s car. On the way – in the car the argument restarted during which the young man willfully stabbed the man on his neck and ear.

Getting to the area called “Blue Bridge” they got out of the car after which the young man went on hitting the man with hands and feet on different parts of his body causing bodily injuries of medium gravity. Then he illegally gained control of the man’s car of “GAZ 24” without the intention of theft, left the scene, crashed the car on the way spoiling the car and causing pecuniary damage.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 24 year-old young man according to the Part 1 of the Article 113 (infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health) and the Part 1 of the Article 183 (gaining illegal control of a car or other means of transportation without the intention of theft) of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
