In Charentsavan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee materials were prepared based on the certificate and attached documents formed in the result of monitoring conducted by the RA State Control Service. During preparation of materials actual data were obtained on the allegation that the former head of Karenis community of Kotayk province, using official position against service interests, on May 5, 2011 signed a real estate lease agreement with a resident of Abovyan town according to which 0.02 hectare land of agricultural significance located in the administrative territory of the community was rented from Karenis community by the latter for 25 years, with an annual rent of 100.000 AMD. Then – on June 8, 2011 pursuant to the tenancy agreement signed for a period of 5 years, the resident of Abovyan town handed over the mentioned 0.02 hectare land to the CJSC for a monthly rent of 65.000 AMD.

In the mentioned "pasture" land antenna stations were installed. That is, in the mentioned period a total of about 5.440.000 AMD was paid to the tenant by sub tenants and 4.896.000 AMD in total was not paid to Karenis community of Kotayk province causing grave consequences to the community.

A criminal case was initiated in Charentsavan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regoinal Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 2 of the Article 308 (abuse of official authorities) of RA Criminal Code.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the former head of Karenis community for allegedly abusing official authorities. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

During preliminary investigation 1.000.000 AMD was recovered by the resident of Abovyan town.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
