In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of the case on inflicting firearm injuries to R. Hakobtan in front of the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region were found out, charge was pressed against the son of witness Borik Hakobyan.

It was earlier informed that on June 8, 2018 at 12:00 a call was received from “Sevan Medical Center” CJSC informing that the resident of Gegharkunik region R. Hakobyan, born in 1955, with diagnosis of “firearm injuries on the left thigh and leg” was taken to medical center.

It was found out that the firearm injuries had been caused to R. Hakobyan by shots fired from the car of «Mitsubishi Pajero» make in front of the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region.

In the result of urgent investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated in the RA IC Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department a number of circumstances were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

According to the data obtained through investigation, on June 8, 2018 at about 12:00 the witness Borik Hakobyan, born in 1951, went to the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region with his son to take part in the court hearing on murder of Hayk Hakobyan, born in 1988. B. Hakobyan is the relative of the defendant within the criminal case on murder.

In front of the court building a row erupted between the relatives of the victim and them and violence was used against the witness. The police officers performing their duties intervened and made Borik Hakobyan and his son get into their car. After it the latter turning the car drove away, stopped the car and at a distance of about 15 meters fired from a hunting rifle of «ՄՑ-21-12» model towards Rafik Hakobyan from the driver’s open window. As a result, heavy damage was inflicted to health of Rafik Hakobyan.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against B. Hakobyan's son according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
