A criminal case was initiated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on the armed incident that took place in front of Sevan resident of the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region.

On June 8, 2018 at 12:00 a call was received from “Sevan Medical Center” CJSC informing that the resident of Gegharkunik region R. Hakobyan, born in 1955, with diagnosis of “firearm injuries on the left thigh and leg” was taken to medical center.

It was found out that the firearm injuries had been caused to R. Hakobyan by shots fired from the car of «Mitsubishi Pajero» make in front of the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region.

Inspection of the scene was conducted. As a result, 1 bullet capsule of 12mm fired from hunting rifle and a bullet cushion wad of hunting rifle were found.  

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory plan was worked out and urgent investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted to find out all circumstances of the case, several people were questioned.

As a result, data were obtained on the person having committed the alleged crime.

Particularly, pursuant to initial data, the next court hearing on murder of Hayk Hakobyan, born in 1988, was scheduled today in the Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik region and Borik Hakobyan, born in 1951, (he is a relative of the defendant within the case on murder) went to court as a witness, his son accompanied him. In front of the court building a row erupted between the relatives of the victim and them and violence was used against the witness. Then the latter’s son fired shots from hunting rifle inflicting R. Hakobyan firearm injuries on his thigh and leg.

B. Hakobyan submitted the hunting rifle to the investigative body, measures are taken to find his son.

Forensic medical examinations were commissioned against B. Hakobyan nd R. Hakobyan.

Complex investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to verify the initial data, the circumstances mentioned in the testimonies. On the base of the obtained evidence appropriate criminal legal assessment will be given to the actions of those involved in the incident.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
