Charged with voting instead of dead person
In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Noyemberyan Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the person who had voted instead of a dead person in precinct N 40/05 during municipal elections held on September 18, 2016 was identified.
Materials were received in Tavush Regional Investigative Department telling that during municipal elections held on September 18, 2016 in precinct N 40/05 somebody signed before the name of dead resident of Ptghavan Vasili Ghevondov included in the voter list and voted.
A criminal case was initiated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case sufficient evidence were obtained on the allegation that in the mentioned precinct one of the members of Local Election Commission had voted instead of the dead person, the member of election commission was identified. According to investigation data, the latter, being authorized to fill in the voter list, filled the data of ID card of dead Vasili Ghevondov in the voter list in favor of one of the candidates and voted instead of him.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 27 year-old woman according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
