RA Investigative Committee summed up breaches recorded during previous elections

Ahead of the nationwide elections to be held on April 2, 2017 the criminal cases investigated in the RA IC proceeding on breaches recorded during the previous elections were summed up in the RA Investigative Committee, circumstances contributing to breaches were revealed and a motion on them was sent to the RA Central Election Commission.
 

According to the studies the reports on breaches were various and related to various procedures of elections connected to precinct electoral commission heads and members’ poor knowledge of legislation, improper organization of identification verification of viewers, representatives of mass media, electors, as well as careless work of commission members. Such cases cause conditions and contribute to committal of crimes.   
 

The RA IC Chairman sent a motion to the Central Election Commission presenting the recorded breaches and mediating to discuss and take measures to eliminate the causes and conditions contributing to breaches, as well as to raise the awareness level of persons involved in electoral procedure.
 

On February 8, 2017 the Chairman of Central Election Commission informed via writ that extensive activities were taken by the RA Central Election Commission to provide proper awareness. And the issues presented in the RA IC Chairman’s motion will be discussed in the framework of trainings for precinct electoral commission members to be conducted in March, 2017.
