A criminal case was initiated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on food poisoning of schoolchildren at School N 5 of Artashat.

On October 15, 2019 a call was received from a hospital informing that schoolchildren of School N 5 of Artashat with diagnosis of “food poisoning” were taken to them.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Ararat Regional Investigative Department according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 279 of RA Criminal Code.

Pursuant to initial data, the schoolchildren were caused food poisoning by the food sold in the buffet of school.

In the result of investigatory actions conducted during preliminary investigation the organization providing the school with food was found where inspection was conducted, samples were taken. Samples were also taken from the buffet and the food delivered.

As of this moment, pursuant to data obtained 24 persons had sustained food poisoning, measures are taken to find out the whole frame of those affected.

Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
