Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Artur Ghambaryan received Project Director of Europe and Asia of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of U.S. State Department Cary Enav

The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Artur Ghambaryan today received the Project Director of Europe and Asia of Washington DC Office of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL/EA) Cary Enav. Representatives of U.S. Embassy to Armenia, manager of Armenian INL project Jack Anderson, project officers Maritsa Hovhannisyan, Karine Qeshabyan were also present at the meeting.
 

During the meeting the parties discussed issues of mutual interest for cooperation, new directions for their development.
 

At the quest’s request A. Ghambaryan presented the activity directions of the RA Investigative Committee, as well as the projects implemented together with the U.S. Embassy and further steps.
 

Due to scanning devices provided to the RA Investigative Committee by the U.S. Embassy criminal cases in all bodies and subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee are being digitalized starting from January 11, 2016, which significantly contributes to efficiency increase of preliminary investigation at the same time creating opportunity to introduce electronic archive and information databases into the Investigative Committee. The project “Electronic Preliminary Investigation” is also at the stage of development the operation of which, by A. Ghambaryan’s assessment, will greatly contribute to prevention of possible violation of human rights, corruption during preliminary investigation.
 

Technical capabilities of electronic archive were also presented to the guests. The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Artur Ghambaryan mentioned that digitalized copies of terminated cases and the ones sent to court are also planned to introduce into the system of electronic archive and information databases which, for computer security reasons, can be applied only if internal network between the Central Office and subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee is provided.
 

At the end of the meeting the participants expressed hope that the efficient cooperation will be permanent.
