RA IC Deputy Chairman Artur Ghambaryan Received Delegation of EC Office to Yerevan (photos)
The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Artur Ghambaryan today received the Delegation of EC Office to Yerevan. Deputy Director of EC Office to Yerevan Ms. Loreta Vioiu, Deputy Director of EC Human Rights Commissioner's Office Ms. Bojana Urumova, Advisor to EC Human Rights Commissioner Mr. Andrzej Mancewicz were involved in it.
During the meeting a wide range of issues on fight against domestic violence, peculiarities of investigation were discussed. RA IC Deputy Chairman Artur Ghambaryan presented the steps taken by the Investigative Committee to make the investigation of the cases on domestic violence more efficient, as well as to prevent them.
A. Ghambaryan also mentioned that statistics on cases of domestic violence is conducted in the Investigative Committee which gives an opportunity to have a more complete picture of prevalence of domestic violence, conditions contributing to it.
During the meeting importance was attached to proper investigation of crimes especially against juveniles and it was stated that the investigation of such cases is conducted by investigators qualified in juveniles' cases.
Deputy Director of EC Human Rights Commissioner's Office Ms. Bojana Urumova expressed gratitude for interesting and comprehensive presentation of the issue and mentioned that in recent years a positive change is noticeable in mentality and approaches towards domestic violence in Armenia.
The parties agreed to continue with active cooperation.
