Within the criminal case investigated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of kidnapping 27 year-old resident of Armavir province were found out. Two persons were detained.

On October 26, 2019 27 year-old resident of Armavir province called the Police and told that he had been kidnapped and beaten.

A criminal case was initiated in Metsamor Police Division according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 131 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to RA IC Armavir Regional Investigative Department for conduction of preliminary investigation and was received in the proceeding. 27 year-old man was found the injured party and was questioned.

During preliminary investigation a number of investigatory actions – searches, confrontations were conducted, witnesses were questioned, a number of circumstances as well as the motive of the case were found out.

The frame of those having kidnapped 27 year-old man was found out. Two of them are brothers – 39 and 43 years old. They called 27 year-old man out of the house through their 37 year-old friend, under the pretext of buying the car sold by the young man they set for the specialist to inspect the technical condition of the car. However, on the way they forced the young man out of the car, got him into another car and took him to the fields near a village. There they beat him together with two friends who had joined them on the way.  

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against brothers according to the Points 1, 2 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 131 and the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to choose detention as a pretrial measure against them. It was sufficed.

One more person was involved as a suspect. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case, to verify the circumstances mentioned in testimonies, to personalize the actions of those involved and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment.
