Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of swindling somebody else's property in particularly large amount by illegal deprivation of freedom and cheating. In the result of investigatory actions of great volume other counts of crime were also disclosed, the mechanism was found out. One person was arrested.

On June 19, 2019 at 11:50 a call was received from a citizen in the RA Police informing that he and his friend had been illegally deprived from freedom after which his car of «Mercedes Benz S 500» make, the documents of those who were in the car – passports, driving license, technical profile of the car, as well as the mobile phone of «iPhone 5» model were stolen.

A criminal case was initiated in Erebuni Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 133, the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 and the Part 1 of the Article 324 of RA Criminal Code which on the same day was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department for preliminary investigation and was received in the proceeding. Three persons were found the affected party.

Pursuant to initial data, on June 19, 2019 at about 11:30 the resident of Yerevan, born in 1989, introducing himself in somebody else’s name, with the purpose of swindling somebody else’s property in particularly large amount by illegally depriving a person from freedom and cheating, under the pretext of buying the car of “Mercedes Benz S 500” make for 14.000 USD and paying the money in the apartment, accompanied two residents of Sevan, born in 1995 and 1994, to the apartment located in Erebuni Street, Yerevan which he had rented for committing the previously planned crime.  

Then under the pretext of taking the money from his friend in the yard and returning he left the apartment, locked the apartment door illegally depriving them from freedom and stole the mentioned car parked in the yard, as well as the passports of one of those who were in the car, driving license, technical profile of the car and mobile phone of «iPhone 5» model.

In the result of urgent investigatory actions and operative-intelligence measures the stolen car of “Mercedes Benz S 500” make was found disjointed and with a changed plate number in a center engaged in dismantling and sale of spare parts of cars. Through inspection, besides the mentioned and other cars, two other cars - the car of “Mercedes Benz S 500” make searched within the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district and “Mercedes Benz S 350” make searched by Nor Nork Police Division were also found.

Through investigation it was found out that on June 20, 2019 the employee of the mentioned center, who is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1983, from 29 year-old man having committed the alleged crime acquired the above-mentioned car of “Mercedes Benz S 500” make which belonged to one of those affected within the criminal case on swindling in particularly large amount by illegally depriving two persons from freedom and cheating. However, he did not manage to dismantle it as the car was found by the police officers.

Through investigation data were also obtained that in May - June, 2019 5 more cars of “Mercedes Benz S” make were acquired by the employee of the center engaged in dismantling and sale of spare parts of cars which he had dismantled and sold the significant amount of the spare parts.

In the result of operative-intelligence and operative-searching measures the person having committed the alleged crime – the resident of Yerevan, born in 1989, was apprehended from the check-point of Bagratashen and arrested.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Urgent investigatory and procedural actions of great volume are conducted, operative-intelligence measures are taken to find those possibly involved in the mentioned cases, to find others possibly affected by their actions, as well as to find other stolen cars and sold spare parts.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
