On October 31, 2021 at 13:50 a call was received from a citizen informing that his brother had killed the wife then attempted to commit suicide.

The investigative-operative group, which had immediately left for the scene, on the floor of the kitchen of one of the houses in Suvorov Street found the body of the resident of the house - 46 year-old woman with traces of violence on the neck as well as the latter’s husband with cut wounds on the wrists who was taken to a medical center.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The conduction of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case was assigned to the investigative group.

In the result of investigative and other procedural actions a number of circumstances of the case, as well as the motive were found out.

Through investigation data were obtained on the allegation that the spouses had had disagreement about personal matters and their relations in recent months had been tense. Pursuant to initial data, on the day of the incident there was an argument between them during which the man murdered the wife by strangling then cut his veins with a kitchen knife attempting to commit suicide.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which blood like traces and a kitchen knife with blood-like traces were found on the kitchen floor which was confiscated, a note was found on the table. Witnesses were questioned, the clothes the victim and the latter’s husband were wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated, forensic medical examination of the body, forensic medical, forensic chemical examinations were commissioned.

The man was arrested on suspicion of his wife’s murder.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the comprehensive and objective investigation, to verify the circumstances mentioned in testimonies.
