In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Syuniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee an advocate was arrested on suspicion of attempt to prompting to give a bribe in large amount during a trial of a criminal case.

On December 9 the 46 year-old resident of Syuniq submitted a written report informing that the advocate had demanded money under the pretext of giving a bribe for imposing a punishment not related to imprisonment to her son charged with committing a crime.

According to the applicant in October-November, 2015 the advocate demanded and received from her 1.000.000 AMD in total to give a bribe to the appropriate officials – the prosecutor and the judge, however the mentioned money was swindled by cheating.

On the base of the citizen’s report on December 9, 2015 a criminal case was initiated by the prosecutor of Syuniq region according to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 178, the Part 2 of the Article 38-312 and the Part 2 of the Article 34-312 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Syuniq Regional Investigative Department to conduct preliminary investigation.

On December 11, 2015 the advocate was arrested on suspicion of swindling in large amount and attempting to prompt to give a bribe in large amount. On December 10, 2015 signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against the 46 year-old resident of Syuniq on suspicion of giving a bribe in large amount. 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory measures are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the circumstances of the case.
