The criminal case initiated on threat to inflict damage to one’s health or to destroy property was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

According to data of the criminal case received, on May 14, 2017 the journalist of “Azatutyun” radio station submitted a report in Central Division of the Police informing that on the same day his professional activity had been hindered and violence had been used against him in RPA headquarter located in Nar-Dos Street, Yerevan.

Based on the materials prepared on the base of the report a criminal case was initiated in Central Division of the RA Police adjunct to Government according to the Part 1 of the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code – threat to murder, to inflict damage to one’s health or to destroy property. The criminal case was sent to the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

The investigator received the case in his proceeding and necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the incident.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
